Efficient Scrap Metal Recycling
Through careful sorting and processing, we enable high-quality recycling and reduce the demand for primary raw materials.
Short transport routes
Regional cooperation and optimized logistics ensure lower emissions and efficient processing. As an environmentally conscious company, we transport around 80% of our output by rail.

Safe Storage with Environmentally Sound Disposal
Emulsion-contaminated materials are properly stored in a chip storage hall built specifically for this purpose. Thanks to the special floor design, any emulsion that accumulates is reliably captured and collected in a 30,000-liter collection tank. Subsequent disposal is carried out in an environmentally sound manner and in compliance with all legal requirements.
Company-owned wastewater treatment plant for water treatment
We are the only scrap metal company in Austria to operate a company-owned wastewater treatment plant in which the surface water is treated. Treatment is carried out by two lamella separators, which ensure continuous plant operation and uniform treatment. The sludge produced in the clarification process is then dewatered using a dry filter chamber press and this filter cake is fed into the thermal recycling process. This in turn generates electricity. The wastewater treatment plant efficiently removes any solids or pollutants from the wastewater and ensures that the legal requirements for discharge are met.

Photovoltaic system
Our photovoltaic system comprises 1,639 monocrystalline modules with a total output of 499.90 kWp on an area of 2,740 m². This covers around 32% of our energy requirements at G&S Metallwerk GmbH. We use around 70 % of the energy generated directly in the company, while the remaining 30 % is fed into the public grid.
